$100,000,000. A rather large amount of money isn’t it. Well that is the sum of bonuses that have been paid out to executives at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae; which as you might recall were two of the biggest benefactors of the public’s bailout in 2008. Both companies have continued to receive quarterly payments to keep their companies afloat….and we, the American taxpayers, have been the ones paying them. So while the average American is struggling to make ends meet and goes to work everyday fearing it might be his last, the big wigs who we bailed out felt it was right to give each other enormous bonuses to go with their already six figure salaries. It seems like this is the same sort of lack of common sense that has gotten us into this mess in the first place. The willingness to protect the top few while letting the rest pay the price. Selfish and greedy…two words that have become synonymous with America economy. So much for the good guy finishing first.
