Dallas-Fort Worth foreclosure filings down from 2011

The good news keep coming for the Dallas-Fort Worth real estate market. Foreclosure filings are down 16% over this time last year, representing a significant drop in available foreclosure properties. 2011 also marked the lowest total of foreclosure filings in over 3 years, with 56,358 area homes going to foreclosure. This news come on top of promising job and economic growth numbers as well as rising prices in the DFW area. Slowly but surely the market is shifting away from a buyers market and moving into a sellers market. And some neighborhoods have seen that shift occur rapidly. The agents in our office are all talking about how quickly nice homes are selling and how much tougher it has become for buyers to get great deals. Personally I looked at a home that had been on the market for only 4 days before it had received over 10 offers.  So if you have been sitting on the fence about buying or selling, now would be a great time to meet with a professional Realtor, like myself, and see that options exist in today’s market.
